Employee Listening & Engagement Strategist

I help organizations hear their people — and act on it.

Most organizations don't have a listening strategy. They have a survey calendar. The difference is whether your people trust that what they say actually changes things — and whether leaders are willing to prove it.

The throughline across every role I've held is trust: how it gets built, what breaks it, and what becomes possible when it actually exists.

That showed up in ERG work, in culture sessions, in the listening spaces I was facilitating long before "listening" was in my title. And it eventually led somewhere concrete: co-designing WP Engine's first continuous listening strategy from scratch. Platform, pilot, rollout, manager enablement, CEO approval, company-wide launch. Moving an organization from a once-a-year survey to something that could hear people in real time.

That's the intersection I want to keep working in: where trust, strategy, and infrastructure meet.

He brings the same genuine care to a small team workshop as he does to a company-wide initiative. Stephen creates spaces where people actually feel safe enough to say the hard things — and that's not a skill you can fake.

Brian Kenney, Sr. Leadership Development Manager — WP Engine

Stephen partnered with executive leaders and Business Partners to turn engagement survey data and themes from listening sessions into meaningful, company-wide action plans — plans that were not only thoughtfully developed, but successfully delivered against.

The organization One where leaders are willing to act on what they hear, be honest about what they can't, and invest in something that actually lasts.
The culture Psychological safety isn't a talking point — it's practiced. People keep speaking up because they've seen it matter before.
The scope A role where I can go deep on facilitation, listening design, and helping leaders actually act on what they hear — with room to grow.

Trust built through listening.

Let’s talk.

I’m drawn to organizations where listening is a genuine business priority — not a survey calendar. Where leaders stay curious about difficult feedback rather than defensive toward it. Where people keep speaking up because they’ve seen it matter before.
